Meet one of the best Massage Therapists in Montrose, CO
Well, that is what we think of our Massage Therapist, Jeanna Smith, LMT. Here is a little insight into her background and how she decided to become Massage Therapists.
Hi there, my name is Jeanna Smith and I have been practicing Massage Therapy since 1999. Originally, I went to Colorado State University with the intention of becoming a Physical Therapist. I received my Bachelors in Exercise Sport Science, but following graduation, I felt I needed to do some soul searching to determine if Physical Therapy was the right path for me. After spending two years living in the mountains and even by the ocean, I did not feel right about going down that path. Massage Therapy had always intrigued me, so I did some research and changed the direction my life was heading. I am so grateful that I took the time off and listened to the inner voice that had a different idea of what my life could become. Massage Therapy allows me to continue to work in the Health care industry and I get to work with individuals who inspire me as well as those I am able to help. I finished my training at Cottonwood School of Massage in Aurora, CO and started seeing clients in 1999. My Massage career has led me to work in my own private office, in Chiropractic clinics, Spas and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching Massage in the vocational school setting. As a therapist, I enjoy integrating all that I have learned to create customized massage sessions for each client. I utilize modalities like: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, Muscle Energy Technique, Positional Release, Tendon and Ligament Therapy and Hot Stones. I feel blessed to currently be living and working in Montrose, CO and to have found a team of professionals here at San Juan Chiropractic with whom I feel synergy while working. I have always felt lucky to be apart of my patient's healing process and I enjoy working with other like minded professionals.
My path of learning and growing will always continue, as I am currently expanding my knowledge in the area of nutrition. I completed training in Nutrition Response Testing in the fall of 2009 with Dr. Mandy and Dr. Greg and am so thankful to have been included on the fun adventure. This will be an ongoing process as there is much to learn both in the technique of testing as well as learning more and more about Standard Process, our whole food products.
Please ask as many questions as you'd like, if I do not know the answer I will do my research to get the answer for you.
