Ted Smith, NCTMB
Ted Smith has been practicing manual therapy since 1997. His formal training in Massage Therapy is from Cottonwood School of Massage in Aurora, CO. He became a certified Massage instructor by the state of Colorado in May of 1999. He has taught at several Massage Therapy Schools in Colorado including Cottonwood School of Massage, Denver School of Massage Therapy, and . Ted enjoys private tutoring other health care professionals and is dedicated to continuing education and growing as a therapist himself. Ted focuses his practice on
Structural Bodywork,
Cranial Sacral Therapy,
and
EFT
(Emotional Freedom Technique). His personal business is called
High Desert Wellness
and he moved his office to San Juan Chiropractic's building in the Fall of 2008. Ted's goal as a therapist is to educate people about incorporating health, healing and self-awareness into their daily lives. His practice places particular attention on Pain Relief and Pain Management. Ted is a current member of the
Chamber of Commerce
and the
Montrose Business Association.
What to expect from a session with Ted?
A detailed interview to fully identify individual concerns.
Comprehensive assessment to reveal the layers of disturbances and a customized treatment plan.
Treatment plan designed to meet the individual goals of the client.
Insightful, plain language explanations are used throughout the session to ensure the client is understanding what they are experiencing.
Treatments on the Silver Cloud, AE and during Cranial Sacral Sessions, the client remains fully clothed.
During Structural Bodywork session the client may be asked to wear shorts and a tank top for the session to be most advantageous.
Your comfort is always a top priority. Ted works in the "optimal therapy zone", the client should never experience excessive pain while the work is being preformed. Communication between Ted and the client is integral to get the best results.
Mild tenderness may occur following Structural Bodywork, especially if the client is unaccustomed to receiving bodywork or preforming regular exercise.
