Let Me Introduce You to our Chiropractors

To place a health problem in the hands of a doctor for care is without a doubt the utmost expression of faith and confidence one has to offer. Our Chiropractors want you to feel comfortable when you come to our clinic, so here is a little insight into their backgrounds and approaches toward Chiropractic.

Drs. Greg Areman and Amanda Areman, Montrose Chiropractors

Let me introduce you first to Dr. Greg Areman:

Dr. Greg Areman switched careers from Navy Officer to chiropractor after 10 years active duty and 10 years reserve. While serving with the Navy he worked on nuclear reactors, navigated (drove) the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga during Desert Storm, and managed the harbor operations at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. He is fond of pointing out that he uses the engineering skills that he learned in the Navy to help his patients through chiropractic.

His time in the Navy showed him that what he loved to do was helping people.

Dr. Greg graduated from University of Missouri, Columbia with degrees in Mathmatics, Engineering (Electrical), and Business (Finance) and Life Chiropractic College in Atlanta, Georgia.

He utilizes various chiropractic techniques including Thompson, Activator, and Gonstead. He offers his healing touch to patients of all ages and performs Sport Physicals for the youth in our community.

Now let's meet Dr. Amanda Areman:

Hi there,I'm Dr. Mandy and I thought I'd take a moment to share with you how I became a Chiropractor. I had known since I was a teenager that I wanted to help people get better whether it be physically, emotionally, spiritually...but it wasn't until I went to college and took a Nutrition class that I knew I wanted to focus on helping people physically. I decided to major in Exercise Science heading in the direction of being a doctor to do all I could do to help people. Having never gone to doctors growing up and having a mother who tried all natural cures if any of her children got sick, which was rare....I wasn't sure of which type of doctor I wanted to be. As I continued through school I was in a class that required I interview a doctor in my chosen profession. As a college tennis player and athlete I decided that an Orthopedic Surgeon would be the route I would look into. I tried and tried to no avail to get an interview with many Orthopedists...on the day before the paper was due I asked my mother if she had any ideas of a doctor I could interview, having never gone to one before the only one she could think of was a Chiropractor who was the husband of a friend. Neither one of us knew what a Chiropractor was or what they did but the doctor part got me the interview. Dr. Ken Logan in Marietta Georgia granted my request of a 20 minute interview. While asking him preset questions many more came to mind and after three hours of the most facinating conversation with this seasoned Chiropractor I knew that any wondering which direction my life was going to go, was gone. He offered me a job on the spot and here I am....

I love how the human body works and we are all so different but yet so similar. Through Chiropractic I have had a couple lifelong ailments that were gone immediately and ski accidents that have not stopped me for a minute in years. I love what I do and could never see me doing anything else.

As Chiropractors most people think we are addressing where the vertebra are in the spinal column and moving them around...this is not necesarrily true...we work with your neurology. This consists of your brain, your spinal cord and all the nerves that go out from your cord to all your cells, organs, tissues, muscles...everything! My job with each visit is to make sure these nerve signals are clearly flowing back and forth from the brain to the rest of the body therefore allowing everything in your body to work at optimum levels.

There are many things that can get in the way of nerve flow...accidents of any kind, repetitive motions, poor nutrition, dehydration, poor attitudes, lack of sleep and just about anything that can have a negative influence on your body.

I met Dr. Frank Jarrell in 2004 and he introduced me to an analysis (how you figure out the problem) called SPINAL REFLEX ANALYIS. More information can be found at www.sra.com I use this analysis everyday with every patient. I look to your spinal cord to tell me what the core problem is at that time and we address the entire spine to clear the issue. These reflexes are turned on also by accidents, repetitive motions, dehydration, poor nutrition etc...After three to six visits I am able to see patterns that are occurring for each individual and within each reflex. On the first visit I am able to clear the reflex patterns, decrease pain and increase neurophysiological function and mobility of the joints along with taking care of all subluxations that relate to the individual reflexes that have shown to need attention. We see huge change with pain level as well as other areas of concern that most people do not think Chiropractic can help. Because we address your neurology the amount of change in your body is limitless... There are times that once your neurology is cleared and begins working like it should that other areas of your "self" need to be addressed. We integrate all forms of healing (physical, spiritual, emotional and mental) to maximize your body's potential.
